Just when you thought he’d done it all, host, actor, podcaster, musician and producer Chris Hardwick has found another arena to conquer. The Nerdist Podcast, Talking Dead and @midnight host has just announced a brand new music and comedy extravaganza in Silicon Valley, which is sure to put a fresh spin on the festival scene. Aptly entitled ID10T Music Festival + Comic Conival, the event was created by Hardwick who, naturally, will be playing host during the two-day celebration of sights and sounds, set to take place at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA on June 24-25.
The inaugural ID10T Fest (i-d-ten-t, not to be confused with idiot) boasts a solid lineup of talented comedians, musicians, artists and bands. With regards to comedy, Demetri Martin and Michael Che are slated perform, as are Nikki Glaser, Michael Ian Black, Garfunkel & Oates, Brian Posehn and April Richardson, the lattermost who will be hosting both days at the Monster Energy Drink Comedy Tent.
On the music front, it’s Weezer, Girl Talk, TV on the Radio, OK Go, Animal Collective, Lord Huron, Car Seat Headrest, Crystal Castles, Robert DeLong, Mothers and Ron Gallo. Mad Decent will be represented with a hard-partying dance tent featuring acts like Madeon, Zeds Dead, Jai Wolf and Toyboi.
ID10T promises to bring the talent and the vibe as the event attempts to fuse the energy of a traditional music festival with all the fun of a Comic-Con convention. There will be cosplay, podcasts, panels, autograph signings, games, rides and more. Companies like Boom! Studios, Valiant, Oni, Top Shelf and Insight Editions will also be on-hand on the festival grounds.
