By the end of Saturday night on July 20, Jamie xx had Pitchfork Music Festival attendees dancing across Union Park. The English DJ, best known for his work with the xx, brought good vibes and infectious beats to his day-two-closing set.
Elsewhere in the day, the legendary group De La Soul honored the history of hip-hop – with special appearances by Pharoahe Monch and Talib Kweli – as well as the legacy of their late-bandmate Trugoy the Dove, who passed away in 2023. Carly Rae Jepsen delivered a pitch perfect pop performance and L’Rain dazzled with a set full of avant garde beauty. Wednesday, Kara Jackson, and Jessie Ware also performed memorable sets.
