Check out Tim Heidecker’s new single ‘Like I Do’

Tim Heidecker

Comedian and songwriter Tim Heidecker is back with another single off his highly-anticipated forthcoming album Slipping Away, which is set to be released on Oct. 18 via Bloodshot Records. The album is expected to build upon the legacy of his critically acclaimed 2022 album, High School, and 2020’s Fear of Death.

The Springsteen-esque “Like I Do” details the events surrounding a very public proposal for marriage. As listeners hear a she-said, he-said, break-down of the past, present, and future of the relationship, Heidecker and The Very Good Band create a throwback rocker that leaves you rooting for these crazy kids to find a piece of happiness.

The Very Good band is comprised of Eliana Athayde on bass, vocals, and additional production; Josh Adams on drums; Vic Berger on keys; and Connor “Catfish” Gallaher on guitar and pedal steel; alongside a contribution from Tim’s daughter Amelia.

“My favorite records are the ones that were just recorded in a room with a band playing,” Heidecker said of recording with his bandmates. “And that’s what we did.”
