Riot Fest has once again returned to its home in Douglass Park, Chicago to treat fans to three days of incredible live music and much more. After a variety of high-energy sets from acts including Face to Face, New Found Glory, and The Lawrence Arms, local legends Fall Out Boy served as the evening’s headliners.

“This is an old song. And if you know it you gotta sing it. I have all the faith in you, said Fall Out Boy vocalist/guitarist Patrick Stump introducing “Grand Theft Autumn / Where Is Your Boy.”

The crowd, in turn, sang the Take This to Your Grave single at the top of their lungs, only to exceed the decibel level a moment later as the band ripped into “Sugar, We’re Goin Down,” featuring special guest, Tim McIlrath from Rise Against.

“Thank you so much for trusting us to spend your evening with us. We appreciate it,” said FoB bassist Pete Wentz.

Of course, punk rock was the centerpiece of the Sept. 20 schedule, but it was a pair of legendary hip-hop acts that stole the show. Cypress Hill – Louis “B-Real” Freese, Senen “Sen Dog” Reyes, Eric “Eric Bobo” Correa, and Lawrence “DJ Muggs” Muggerud – had fans feeling high during their Rise Stage set. Later, Chuck D and Flavor Flav – who has further solidified his status as America’s sweetheart after showing his support for U.S. athletes at the Summer Olympics – delivered a politically-charged set full of historical context and inspiration.
