Abso Lutely Productions, the production company founded by Tim Heidecker, Eric Wareheim, and Dave Kneebone, has announced its new record label, Abso Lutely Records. The debut release will come in the form of Tim Platt’s first album, Teeth Like Beak, which is available beginning today (Sept. 30, 2024).
Platt, who has written original music for The Tonight Show and Sesame Street, includes a mix of songs with hilarious character work, one-liners, and stories throughout Teeth Like a Beak, which was recorded at Union Hall in Brooklyn.
Platt said in a statement, “Abso Lutely has introduced me to so many comedians that I’ve become obsessed with. I’ve always been in awe of how Dave and Abso produce shows that are ambitious, specific, and unlike anything else on screen. It is so exciting to share in that legacy with this new label, which is equally committed to putting out the next coolest thing from the next most innovative comedian with whom you’re about to become obsessed.”
Kneebone added, “We created Abso Lutely Records so that we can help push performances and performers that we love, but might not quickly find an audience on their own. And frankly, I love to sit and listen to comedy records. So I thought… why not? It doesn’t have to take a huge studio and a lot of red tape to put these performances out. I’m thrilled today to be releasing Teeth Like Beak by Tim Platt and I’m stoked about the stuff that’s coming up under this new label.”
