On Saturday, April 6, Bright Eyes stopped by The Salt Shed in Chicago to perform a concert in support of their tenth studio album, Five Dice, All Threes. The Omaha trio – comprised of Conor Oberst, Mike Mogis, and Nate Walcott and joined by touring musicians, including Alex Levine of The So So Glos fame – kicked off the show with the opening musical track of the album, “Bells and Whistles,” before diving into “El Capitan.”

“It’s so nice to be here. We love you Chicago,” Oberst said early in the night to the enthusiastic crowd.

“Soul Singer in a Session Band,” “We Are Nowhere and It’s Now,” and “Happy Accident” were other highlights on the evening’s setlist. The show even included a surprise guest appearance by Hurray for the Riff Raff.. The show even included a surprise guest appearance by Hurray for the Riff Raff.

Cursive, another popular indie-rock band from Nebraska, kicked-off the night with a set that included “Bloodbather,” “Dark Star” and much more. Vocalist/guitarist Tim Kasher took time out to marvel at the beautiful surroundings of The Salt Shed.

“This isn’t Bottom Lounge. This isn’t Empty Bottle. What a pleasure – We’re Cursive,” he said before thanking Bright Eyes for having the band along on tour.
