The clock is ticking fast as the premiere of Maria Bamford’s latest special Old Baby draws near. Luckily, Netflix has just released the above trailer, which gives fans of the quirky comedian an idea of just what’s to come in her latest offbeat and original stand-up special.
Bamford’s forthcoming Old Baby isn’t pretending to fit the mold of your typical stand-up special. As observed in the above trailer, the comedian is seen venturing beyond the walls of the venue and out into the world, delivering jokes in a variety of settings including bookstores, living rooms, bowling alleys and more.
Old Baby is the followup to Bamford’s 2012 hour-long The Special Special Special, which saw the comedian performing in her L.A. home for an intimate audience of two… her parents. Her new special is the latest in a budding relationship with Netflix (where you can now stream The Special Special Special) aka the producers of the animated series BoJack Horseman (featuring voice work by Bamford) and Bamford’s collaboration with Mitch Hurwitz, Lady Dynamite.
Bamford’s Old Baby is among the many highly-anticipated stand-up specials premiering next month. Catch it, streaming May 2 only on Netflix.
