The Chris Gethard Show is again transitioning to a new home. The series, which seems to be ever-evolving, will now be broadcast live from New York City on TruTV.
The Chris Gethard Show began as a live comedy show at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York before becoming a public access show based out of Manhattan. Fusion, which picked up the Funny Or Die-produced series back in 2015, subsequently ran it with a pre-recorded format for two successful seasons but fans remained in the dark about the show’s future until Gethard’s Facebook Live announcement back on May 4.
“We will not be returning to the Fusion Network,” the comedian declared to his online audience. “…We are heading to our new home at TruTV. …The show that refuses to die has survived once again.”
The Chris Gethard Show is a variety talk show created and hosted by Gethard. The unscripted series features comedian panels, games, stunts, call-ins and a whole lot of celebrity guests like Colin Quinn, Lena Dunham, Paul Giamatti, Amy Poehler, Hannibal Buress, Zach Galifianakis, Sean P. Diddy Combs and Will Ferrell.
Gethard, whose new HBO stand-up special Career Suicide drops on HBO today May 6, promises 16 hour-long episodes for Season 3 of his show, all which will air live on the national cable network TruTV beginning later this year.
