Rory Scovel is the latest to announce a new stand-up special on Netflix. The forthcoming hour-long, Rory Scovel Tries Stand Up For The First Time, premieres June 6, marking the comedian’s second special and his first for the streaming service, which in recent months has proven to be the go-to network for all things stand-up comedy.

Scovel’s previous special, The Charleston Special — filmed in the comedian-writer-actor’s home state of South Carolina at the Woolfe Street Playhouse in Charleston — is available now for streaming on Seeso or via Scovel’s website, where it is available to download for $5.

Scovel has appeared on a number of podcasts including The Nerdist Podcast with Chris Hardwick, You Made It Weird with Pete Holmes and Comedy Bang Bang with Scott Aukerman and has been featured on Comedy Central, TBS’ Conan and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. He also made an appearance in Reggie Watts’ second Netflix special Spatial (2016) as part of the sitcom parody segment Crowe’s Nest, co-starring alongside Watts and Kate Berlant.

Scovel is slated to perform at Comedy Central’s upcoming inaugural Colossal Clusterfest taking place June 2-4 in San Francisco, CA. He will take the stage on both Friday and Saturday at the massive 3-day festival (see complete lineup here), which features headliners Kevin Hart, Bill Burr and Jerry Seinfeld.
