On May 24, Sarah Silverman shared a new short film entitled “You Can Never Really Know Someone” via JASH. Throughout the 12-minute mini-movie, viewers get a glimpse into a day in the life of a troubled woman named Gretchen as she stops by a tax office, an animal shelter and an all-male Bible study group – led by Michael Sheen – on her quest to find unconditional love.
“This is a weirdo short I got to make w the Brothers Nee & a fancy man named @MichaelSheen,” Silverman said sharing the video link on Twitter. “You Can Never Really Know Someone” was written by Adam Nee who co-directed the project with his brother, Aaron Nee. For those who don’t know, JASH is the comedy content collective founded by Silverman, Michael Cera, Tim and Eric and Reggie Watts which regularly offers unique videos from its founders and their funny friends.
Fans won’t have to wait long for new material from Silverman as her upcoming Netflix special, A Speck of Dust, is set to drop on the streaming service on May 30. The 70-minute show finds the comedian sharing “fun facts, sad truths and yeah-she-just-went-there-moments.”
Silverman has a few stand-up shows on her schedule including a Sarah Silverman & Friends performance at Largo in Los Angeles on June 24. She will also be appearing alongside Jerry Seinfeld, Kevin Hart, Bill Burr, T.J. Miller (who recently shared the trailer for his new HBO special, “Meticulously Ridiculous”), Broad City and many more at Colossal Clusterfest which is being held at Civic Center Plaza and Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco June 2 – 4.
