One of the first female comedians to perform stand-up in India is getting her very own Netflix original comedy special. Aditi Mittal’s new hour-long Things They Wouldn’t Let Me Say will premiere on the service on July 18.

“That’s right! @awryaditi is coming soon to Netflix with Things They Wouldn’t Let Me Say,” tweeted the streaming giant earlier this morning. With its global reach, the VOD service will put Mittal’s brand of comedy in front of its 100 million subscribers living in 190 countries around the world.

Mittal first performed Things They Wouldn’t Let Me Say in July 2013 at the Canvas Laugh Factory, Mumbai and subsequently later took her solo show on tour. The comedian, actress and writer had this to say of her show and resulting Netflix special:

“Having a platform like Netflix is a dream come true for anyone in entertainment and comedy today. Even while I give this quote for the press release I have to pinch myself to confirm that this is real. The journey of this show has been absolutely exhilarating. I hope Netflix fans all over the world will enjoy the show as much as I have in making it.”

Netflix Director of Content Acquisition, Swati Shetty, added that “Aditi’s success reflects the growing pool of Indian stand-up comedy talent that is already gaining international recognition.”

Mittal’s comedy is described as bold and fresh with observations of such topics including gender, sex and life as a woman in modern day India.

Mittal’s Things They Wouldn’t Let Me Say, which will debut on Netflix the same day as Ari Shaffir’s Double Negative pair of specials, follows fellow comedians Vir Das, who released his hour-long Abroad Understanding on the streaming service in April, and Hasan Minhaj, who debuted his Homecoming King in May.
