‘Sebastian Maniscalco: Why Would You Do That?’ premieres Oct. 1

Sebastian Maniscalco Oddball Comedy Festival 2016 Chicago

Sebastian Maniscalco is once again teaming up with Showtime to drop his next comedy special. The hour-long show, hilariously entitled “Why Would You Do That?,” is set to premiere on the premium cable network on the evening of Oct. 1.

The special, which was directed by Joe DeMaio, will feature a hilarious collection of jokes about the comedian’s problems with people accented by his one-of-a-kind physical humor. “Coming up in this business over the years has taught me to look for folks that are in it for the same reasons I am,” said Maniscalco in a statement regarding “Why Would You Do That.” “I knew we had found a great partner in Showtime on my last special, and I am happy we are continuing that relationship.”

Maniscalco’s father’s criticisms, his Italian upbringing, dinner parties and his relationship with his wife are among the topics that the comedian will address in “Why Would You Do That?” this Saturday. As if you needed any more reasons to tune in, the comedian refers to the show as his best work to date and if you’ve seen his incredible previous Showtime specials, “Aren’t You Embarrassed” and “What’s Wrong with People,” you know that his comedy bar is set at the highest level.

Along with dropping a new special, Maniscalco is also traveling across the country on the Why Would You Do That Tour. He recently extended the tour into 2017 with a string of new dates that will take him through Atlantic City, Las Vegas, Boston and other great cities. The tour is currently scheduled to conclude at the State Theatre in Minneapolis on May 21, but at the rate Maniscalco has been selling out venues, more dates wouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone.

Check out the trailer for “Why Would You Do That?” above and tune into Showtime at 10 p.m. ET on Oct. 1 to watch the premiere of the special. Head over to SebastianLive.com to stay up-to-date with news and to pick-up tickets to see Sebastian Maniscalco perform live.
