Tiffany Haddish is about to drop a new stand-up special, She Ready! From the Hood to Hollywood, on Showtime. The forthcoming special, which premieres on the premium network this August, will mark the comedian’s debut hour-long.
Tiffany Haddish: She Ready! From the Hood to Hollywood was taped at the Nate Holden Performing Arts Center in her native Los Angeles. Throughout the special, the comedian tackles a range of topics from her childhood experiences in the foster care system to her ex-boyfriend revenge tactics. According to Ebony, Haddish also incorporates a bit centered on Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, whom she introduced to Groupon.
Haddish, who’s expected to appear in Tracy Morgan’s forthcoming comedy series The Last OG, can currently be seen on Season 3 of NBC’s The Carmichael Show where she plays the character of Nekeisha — wife (now separated) of Bobby Carmichael (Lil Rel Howery) and sister-in-law of Jerrod Carmichael.
Haddish previously appeared in Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele’s 2016 feature action comedy film Keanu and will make her return to the big screen this July, co-starring alongside Regina Hall, Queen Latifah and the above-mentioned Pinkett Smith in the forthcoming comedy Girls Trip just prior to her stand-up special’s debut on Showtime.
She Ready! From the Hood to Hollywood, helmed by frequent music video director and fellow Real Husbands of Hollywood collaborator Chris Robinson, premieres on Showtime on Aug. 18 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
