HBO has just announced George Lopez will return to the network with his fourth live solo stand-up comedy special. The new hour-long, which goes by the name George Lopez: The Wall, Live From Washington D.C., will debut on HBO on Aug. 5. Check out the official teaser trailer above.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I’m back!” states Lopez in the trailer’s opening moments. “And I got a brand new HBO comedy special and it is live from Washington, D.C. A lot’s changed since the last time I was here. So, I’ll be addressing the most important social issues facing our country today.”
Lopez goes on to promise viewers comedic discussion on topics including organic foods, dogs and strollers, “exotic-sounding food allergies” and, of course, The Wall, which the comedian can be seen utterly obliterating with a sledgehammer in the latter half of the trailer.
The Wall, Live From Washington D.C. marks the first HBO special from Lopez in five years. His prior hour-longs for the network include America’s Mexican (2007), Tall, Dark, & Chicano (2009) and It’s Not Me, It’s You (2012).
The Wall, Live From Washington D.C., which will be taped on Aug. 5 at the Kennedy Center, is exec-produced by George Lopez, Michael Rotenberg and Troy Miller, the lattermost who will also direct.
