Ari Shaffir is on the verge of releasing two specials on Netflix. The forthcoming pair of specials, which go by the name Double Negative: Children and Adulthood, will hit the streaming service on July 18. Watch the trailer for the two-part special above.
Shaffir announced the release of Double Negative early last month via Twitter, around the same time it was announced he was passing the torch as host of his Comedy Central show This Is Not Happening to Roy Wood Jr. The forthcoming hour-long twin pack, which Shaffir calls “a culmination of two years of hard work,” marks the comedian’s debut on Netflix.
Double Negative was filmed at Cap City Comedy Club in Austin back in November of 2016. Shaffir describes the first part — Children — as being all about kids whom, as seen in the above trailer, he is not a big fan. The second part — Adulthood — sees Shaffir examining the life one cannot lead if they choose to get married and have children.
Shaffir’s Double Negative: Children and Adulthood, which follows 2015’s Paid Regular, begins streaming on Netflix on July 18 — the same day as Aditi Mittal’s Things They Wouldn’t Let Me Say drops on the VOD service.
