Ryan Hamilton’s ‘Happy Face’ to premiere on Netflix this August

Ryan Hamilton: Happy Face on Netflix

Comedian Ryan Hamilton is about to premiere his first stand-up special Happy Face on Netflix. The Idaho native, who has grown in popularity through the New York comedy scene, will debut his talents on the VOD streaming service in August.

Happy Face, which Hamilton confirmed earlier this week in a tweet (see below), was taped at The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College on May 13 of this year. The forthcoming hour-long follows a slew of other original comedy specials debuting on Netflix in recent months including May’s extensive lineup of veteran comedians and June’s releases by Chris D’Elia and Rory Scovel. Hamilton will be joined by Maz Jobrani, who is also slated to debut his newest special, Immigrant, on the service in August.

Hamilton has appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Late Late Show and Conan. He was a semi-finalist on Last Comic Standing and was named one of Rolling Stone’s “Five Comics to Watch” back in 2012. He’s a regular performer at Just For Laughs and will again be performing at the Montreal festival July 24-29.

Hamilton is an up-and-comer in the world of “clean” comedy. Visit him on Facebook for more info and a list of current tour dates and mark your calendars for the premiere of his first hour-long special, streaming on Netflix Aug. 29.
