One may think that the heart of winter is a less than ideal time of year to host a Chicago music festival, but Tomorrow Never Knows organizers continue to prove that theory wrong by continually putting together a top tier lineup that draws music fans out into the cold to experience concerts by the hottest up-and-coming artists and legendary musicians.
This year’s event – which is scheduled for Jan. 17 – 21 – will find Destroyer, Typhoon, Hinds, Mark Farina and many more artists performing music at Schubas, Lincoln Hall, Metro and more great venues, but the most hilarious sets will take place on Wabansia as TNK Fest presents Comedy at The Hideout.
Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon writer and stand-up star, Jo Firestone, will be headlining Comedy at the Hideout on Jan. 20. The homey, intimate feeling of The Hideout tends to set a comfortable tone for a night of comedy where anything can happen so Firestone seems poised to deliver a must-see pair of sets.
On Jan. 18, Chicago’s favorite underground comedy show Helltrap Nightmare – featuring Sarah Sherman – will be joining forces with the Baltimore-based, horror comedy sketch group Wham City for a performance that will delight alt-comedy fans with silliness and gore. Comedy at The Knitting Factory – hosted by Clark Jones, Will Miles and Kenny DeForest – will offer a taste of New York City in Chicago with their traveling show.
Josh Fadem, who has appeared on such hilarious series as It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Weeds, 30 Rock, The Eric Andre Show and many more, will be performing at The Hideout on Jan. 19 as will Bay Area comedian Kate Willett. Tickets to all Comedy at The Hideout shows are currently on sale for approximately $10 – $15.
