After a solid first season of The Standups — Netflix’s original series featuring half-hour sets from today’s up-and-coming comedians (okay, they’re slightly more established than that) — the VOD service and modern-day comedy hub has just announced the cast for its highly-anticipated Season 2.
Following suit with the Season 1, the forthcoming second installment of The Standups will feature six budding comedians. Among the second season cast are Kyle Kinane, Rachel Feinstein, Aparna Nancherla, Brent Morin, Gina Yashere and Joe List. It should be noted several of the above-mentioned comics already have hour-long specials under their belts, which means we’ll likely be seeing some pretty solid 30-minute sets in this next release.
All six comedians will be recording their Netflix half-hours at the Globe Theater in Los Angeles on Nov. 5-6. Nancherla, Morin and Feinstein will tape across two shows on night one while Kinane, Yashere and List will tape across two shows on night two. Season 1 of The Standups, which featured sets by Beth Stelling, Nate Bargatze, Nikki Glaser, Dan Soder, Fortune Feimster and Deon Cole, debuted on Netflix on July 4. Though it has been confirmed Season 2 will premiere in 2018, no hard date has yet been announced.
