Comedy Central has just announced details of comedian Chris Distefano’s new dual stand-up special and comedy album release. Chris Distefano: Size 38 Waist will premiere on Jan. 18 as part of “Stand-Up Month” on Comedy Central with a companion comedy album release, slated to hit all digital retailers and streaming services the same day.
Distefano’s Size 38 Waist is described by CC as “a hilarious and personal hour in which the Brooklyn native expounds on his fast-gentrifying home borough, fatherhood, and his open-minded outlook despite a conservative upbringing.” The Brooklyn-born comedian pulls laughs from his own childhood — growing up with ADHD — as well as from experiences raising his half Puerto Rican, half Italian daughter.
Distefano’s dual special / comedy album release is just the beginning as the multi-talented comic has a slew of other material already in the works. The comedian just inked an exclusive overall deal with Comedy Central to continue his series Stupid Questions with Chris Distefano, on which he’s slated to appear as a guest with host Roy Wood Jr. the night of his special’s release. The package deal also promises a second comedy special, an animated series and an unscripted series.
Chris Distefano: Size 38 Waist was filmed at Roulette Intermedium in Brooklyn last February and features a scripted opening with fellow New Yorker Chazz Palminteri. Watch the above trailer and catch the special’s Jan. 18 premiere only on Comedy Central.
