Comedy Central and Superfly’s mega comedy (and music) bonanza Clusterfest will return for its third year in 2019. Festival organizers have now set the dates for the three-day fest, which will take place at the Civic Center Plaza and the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco on June 21-23.
Clusterfest combines a collection of established and up-and-coming talent from the worlds of comedy and music. The eclectic event is quickly becoming known for its one-of-a-kind performances like last year’s Wayne’s World live reading by Broad City’s Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, which featured guest stars and a live Queen cover band. Last year’s rendition of the fest also brought fans the first-ever live performance by The Lonely Island with special guests Michael Bolton (who gave himself a comic makeover not long ago with his very own Netflix special), Chris Parnell and T-Pain.
Other quirky attractions to appear over the years include Arrested Development’s iconic Bluth Banana Stand complete (with its own “Never Nude” parade) and full scale recreations of Jerry’s apartment from Seinfeld & Paddy’s Pub from FXX’s It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia with an appearance from creator and actor Rob McElhenney.
The inaugural Clusterfest lineup saw sets from top tier comedians like Sarah Silverman, Jerry Seinfeld, Kevin Hart, Bill Burr, Reggie Watts, Anthony Jeselnik and more. The 2018 edition featured performances from Jon Stewart, Trevor Noah, Amy Schumer, Maria Bamford, David Cross, Tiffany Haddish, Jim Jefferies, Roy Wood Jr. and others. Ice Cube, Chromeo, Tegan and Sara, Action Bronson, Les Claypool and Third Eye Blind are among the handful of musical performers who have played the fest since its inception.
Clusterfest will release its 2019 lineup in March. A ticket pre-sale will follow shortly thereafter at the official Clusterfest website.
