Jenny Lewis ‘On The Line’ listening party raises $10K for women’s charity

Jenny Lewis: On The Line

Over the weekend, and with a little help from her friends, Jenny Lewis managed to raise $10,000 for charity during a live listening party of her forthcoming album On The Line. All proceeds from the star-studded event, which brought together an eclectic group of actors, singers and more, were donated to the Los Angeles Downtown Women’s Center (LADWC).

The On The Line Online event, hosted by SNL’s Vanessa Bayer featured a slew guests including Tim Heidecker, St. Vincent, Beck, Jeff Goldblum, David Arquette, Jim James, Danielle Haim, Jason Schwartzman, Mac DeMarco, Natasha Leggero, Nikki Lane, King Tuff, Jerry Cohen and more.

Clocking in at over three hours, the quirky gathering — part album listening party, part variety show — saw surprise performances including a host of covers of Lewis’ solo material like “San Fernando” by Nikki Lane and “Just One Of The Guys” by King Tuff as well as Rilo Kiley’s “The Good That Won’t Come Out” by Danielle Haim.

There was comedy, there was music, there was wrestling, there was an increasingly problematic call-in hotline, all of which amounted to a one-of-a-kind, entertaining viewing experience, offering fans a sneak peak at Lewis’ new album while raising funds for a good cause.
