A few weeks ago we saw the release of the controversial Woodstock 2019 lineup, featuring veteran acts like Santana and Dead & Company along with more modern acts including Miley Cyrus, Chance the Rapper, Imagine Dragons and more. Now, festival organizers have broken down the eclectic fest with a stage by stage lineup, laying the groundwork for a hodge-podge of tunes that will soon go down as Woodstock 50.
Woodstock 50 is slated to take place in Watkins Glen, NY on Aug. 16-18 and will feature four stages of music; The Peace Stage, The Love Stage, The Music Stage and The Garden Stage.
Friday will see a host of artists — some big, some small — spread across the four stages. The Peace Stage will see a trio or noteworthy acts with John Fogerty leading into The Raconteurs, followed by headliners, The Killers. The Love Stage will bring a mishmosh of Run The Jewels, The Lumineers and the aforementioned Cyrus while The Music Stage will see Robert Plant & The Sensational Shape Shifters opening for Santana.
Saturday will surely bring forth a few conflicts with Dead & Company, The Black Keys, David Crosby & Friends and the previously-mentioned Chance The Rapper facing off as headliners for the day. Earlier on, Margo Price, Gary Clark Jr. and Sturgill Simpson will perform back to back to back sets on The Peace Stage while Dawes will precede Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, prior to Greta Van Fleet’s performance on The Love Stage. Portugal. The Man and India.Arie are among the handful of artists performing on The Music Stage throughout the day.
Sunday will see an epic barrage of rap, hip hop and funk with Vince Staples, Common, Janelle Monae and Jay-Z performing (in that order) on The Peace Stage. Elsewhere, on The Love Stage, Courtney Barnett will open for Cage The Elephant, while Earl Sweatshirt will see himself sandwiched between P*ssy Riot and Young The Giant on The Music Stage. Fans can also catch Brandi Carlile’s set prior to Halsey’s festival closing performance on The Music Stage.
