Tiffany Haddish has another big project in the works as Netflix has just announced the comedian will host a new series on the streaming network. Tiffany Haddish Presents: They Ready will feature six comedians, personally selected by Haddish, each showcasing in their own half hour segment.
Tiffany Haddish Presents: They Ready will be exec produced by Haddish, Wanda Sykes and Page Hurwitz. Per Deadline, the six comedians set to feature in the forthcoming show are Chaunté Wayans (50 Shades of Black), April Macie (Snoop Dogg’s Bad Girls of Comedy), Tracey Ashley (The Last O.G.), Aida Rodriguez (Last Comic Standing), Flame Monroe (Def Comedy Jam) and Marlo Williams (Comicview) — all of which, Haddish has a prior connection in the business.
“I am introducing six of my favorite comedians – in my eyes, they are superstars,” Haddish said in a statement. “The epitome of They Ready.”
Haddish’s star has risen dramatically in recent years with notable roles in shows including The Carmichael Show and The Last O.G. She has also appeared on the big screen in feature films Girls Trip, Uncle Drew and Tyler Perry’s Nobody’s Fool and dropped her debut hour-long comedy special She Ready! From the Hood to Hollywood on Showtime in 2017.
They Ready only furthers Haddish’s relationship with Netflix with the comedian and actress having previously appeared in the SVOD’s Seth Rogen’s Hilarity for Charity and having voiced a character in the service’s animated series BoJack Horseman. She is also among the cast of voices set to appear in the platform’s forthcoming Tuca & Bertie.
