The National have just debuted the music video for their new song “Hairpin Turns.” The track marks the latest release from the group’s forthcoming album I Am Easy To Find. Watch the video above.
The video for “Hairpin Turns” features dancing and choreography by Sharon Eyal, along with appearances from former David Bowie bandmate Gail Ann Dorsey, Mina Tindle and Kate Stables (This Is the Kit).
The video was helmed by Mike Mills (20th Century Women, Beginners), who also directed the short film accompaniment to the band’s upcoming album. Mills shared a few thoughts on the video for “Hairpin Turns” in a recent statement:
“The video is a very simple portrait of the band (and the friends who helped make the song) and the song itself: You see all the instruments that make up the song in isolation, even hear them recorded live on set over the album version, kind of like showing you the tracks that make up the song. And you see everyone who contributed alone, including Gail Ann Dorsey, Pauline Delasser (a.k.a. Mina Tindle) and Kate Stables — but your mind puts them together.”
The National‘s eighth studio album I Am Easy To Find comes out May 17. Previous releases from the Sleep Well Beast follow-up include “You Had Your Soul With You” and “Light Years.”
