In approximately one month, stand-up comedy fans will be graced with another special from the legendary Jim Gaffigan. Watch the trailer for the new hour-long — Quality Time — above, prior to the special’s debut next month on Amazon Prime.
As seen in the above trailer, Gaffigan will cover a range of material in Quality Time. Weight gain, lying to children and declining invitations with honesty are among the many topics ripe for riffing in the new special. “Hey Jim, why didn’t you come to my birthday party,” he asks in the teaser, before responding bluntly, “I didn’t want to.”
Quality Time is not only Gaffigan’s first special with Amazon, it is also Amazon’s first original stand-up special altogether. It is the comedian’s seventh hour-long, marking the followup to 2018’s Noble Ape (also currently available on Amazon Prime).
Quality Time was announced back in January and later taped at the State Theatre in Minneapolis on March 9. The special was directed by wife and frequent collaborator Jeannie Gaffigan and executive produced by Comedy Dynamics’ Brian Volk-Weiss & Cisco Henson.
