Comedian Ali Siddiq has just released his fifth stand-up album. Ali Siddiq: It’s Bigger Than These Bars dropped earlier this week via Comedy Central Records.
It’s Bigger Than These Bars was recorded at Bell County Jail in Texas. The comedian’s choice to tape his latest release at the Texas correctional facility comes after Siddiq’s own incarceration, during which he served six years of a 15-year sentence for drug trafficking.
On his latest album, Siddiq crafts a range of comedic material inspired from his days behind bars as well as his life on the outside as a free man.
Over the years, Siddiq has made appearances on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam and Gotham Comedy Live. He performed, more recently, at Clusterfest and Moontower Comedy Festival and has appeared on @midnight, This Is Not Happening and The Opposition with Jordan Klepper.
Siddiq’s one-hour special It’s Bigger Than These Bars debuted on Comedy Central back in February of 2018. The new comedy album counterpart is available now on all streaming services including Spotify, Apple Music and Pandora and can be purchased on iTunes, Amazon and more.
