Back in 1994, the radio was flooded with the songs of alternative rockers Bush and Live thanks to both group’s seminal releases, Sixteen Stone and Throwing Copper. On Sept. 6, these nineties powerhouses brought their ALTimate Tour to the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Tinley Park to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the hit-filled releases.

After a crowd-pleasing opening set from Our Lady Peace, Live kicked off their performance with a pair of Throwing Copper tracks in “All Over You” and “Selling the Drama.” The Pennsylvania rockers went on to share a dynamic setlist including an acoustic interlude from frontman Ed Kowalczyk – whose voice sounded even more powerful than it did when the band formed – featuring “Heaven” and “Turn My Head.”

Bush also returned to their anniversary-celebrating album to begin their set as Gavin Rossdale and company shredded through “Machinehead.” Rossdale took time out to thank fans who’ve been there since the beginning before introducing “Everything Zen.” “The Chemicals Between Us,” “Little Things” and “Glycerine” also appeared on Bush’s Chicago-area setlist.
