The official music video for Iggy Pop’s “Loves Missing,” from the former Stooge frontman’s new solo LP Free, has just landed. Watch the video for the track in its entirety above.
The video for “Loves Missing” sees a woman toying with a prism while Pop puts his baritone vocals to work, blocking the room’s source of light with his head. As the video progresses and the song’s pace begins to quicken, Pop proceeds to increase his energy, whipping his hair and punching the air into a musical frenzy of sorts.
“She’s thinking about something we all need / All need / Clock’s ticking, not giving her room to breathe / To breathe / Loves screaming / Loves missing / Loves screaming, so quietly and in pain / Loves absent, it’s failing her once again, again.”
The video for “Loves Missing” was directed by Simon Taylor and shot on location at Sweat Records in Miami and sees a special appearance by Ale Campos from the band Las Nubes.
Pop’s new LP Free was released on Sept. 6 by Loma Vista Recordings. The album marks the singer’s 18th studio album and features collaborations from Leron Thomas (trumpet, keys, songwriting) and Noveller (guitar and vocals). Stream the LP here.
