2017 is looking bright and beautiful for fans of Ricky Gervais. The Office co-creator’s next film, David Brent: Life on the Road, is coming to Netflix in February and he is gearing up for a new stand-up world tour known as Humanity later in the year. In advance of Humanity, Gervais is performing a handful of warm-up shows that will entertain audiences and benefit man’s best friend.
“I’m giving my profits from the 2 warm up gigs next week to @Nowzad & @AllDogsMatter by the way :),” Gervais said on Twitter, referring to a pair of shows that he will be performing at Finchley Arts Depot in London on Jan. 18 and 19. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. this Friday, Jan. 13.
Nowzad is a non-profit organization which rescues stray and abandoned animals in Afghanistan. It often reunites soldiers with their battle buddies and it also trains rescued street dogs to become Service Dogs, specializing in working with people with PTSD, in the United States. All Dogs Matter is also a registered charity. Its staff and volunteers work to rescue and rehome dogs in and around London to forever families across England.
Humanity follows the success of Gervais’ previous comedy tours Science, Fame, Politics and Animals. He has currently announced a string of shows in the UK, that kick-off at Colston Hall in Bristol on Feb. 21. He also has plans to bring the show all over the world to cities “that have 5-star hotels near to large venues.”
Follow Gervais on Twitter to stay up-to-date on his touring plans – and his work as an animal activist – and head over to LiveNation to buy tickets to his warm-up shows. A full list of Humanity Tour dates can be seen below.
