It may only be a few days into 2020, but it’s already time to get excited for festival season. Coachella has revealed that a newly-reunited Rage Against the Machine, Frank Ocean and Travis Scott will headline both weekends of the three day festival set to take place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA on April 10-12 and April 17-19.
Thom Yorke, Lana Del Rey, FKA twigs, Run the Jewels, Charli XCX, Danny Elfman, Hot Chip, Fatboy Slim, Noname and many more acts will also perform as will the holographic Japanese singer Hatsune Miku.
Rage Against the Machine famously reunited at Coachella 2007 – ending a seven-year break-up – before embarking on a world tour. The group last performed together at L.A. Rising in 2011 though guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk kept busy with their side project, Prophets of Rage. Frontman Zack de la Rocha collaborated with Run the Jewels during RATM’s hiatus otherwise he kept a pretty low public profile.
Architensions, Cristopher Cichocki, Kiki Van Eijk, and Estudio Normal are among the visual artists whose large-scale installations will be featured at the event.
Tickets for both weekends go on sale on Monday, Jan. 6 at noon PT and travel packages are also available.
