Comedian Lewis Black has revealed that his latest stand-up special, Thanks for Risking Your Life, will drop on October 6 via TLB Records. The show will be available to watch on Amazon Prime, iTunes, Google Play, Xbox, and Vudu and the audio version will also release via all digital platforms.
Thanks for Risking Your Life was recorded on Friday, March 13 – just as the country was going into shut down – and Black finds inspiration in people’s Corona-induced anxiety as well as his frustration with the current occupant of the Oval Office. The special set was Black’s last as part of his It Gets Better Every Day Tour which began in January 2020.
“It’s hard to be funny now. It’s hard to be funny when everything is going so great,” Black says with a sarcastic chuckle in the trailer for Thanks for Risking Your Life.
The miracle of two-day free shipping and the ridiculousness of America’s political parties existing in separate realities are also among the topics Black riffs on during the special.
