Riot Fest, which is set to take over Douglass Park in Chicago on Sept. 16 – 19, announced a slew of big editions to its lineup.
Patti Smith and Her Band, Alkaline Trio, Joyce Manor, WDRL and Kristeen Young have been added to the Thursday Preview Party joining previously announced headliner Morrissey. Thursday will also include free carnival rides, sideshow performers, exclusive merch and the Riot Fest Wedding Chapel.
The Flaming Lips have also been added to Riot Fest’s Sunday lineup replacing the Pixies after Black Francis and company halted touring citing pandemic conditions. Slipknot is replacing Nine Inch Nails who also cancelled all live performances for the year. As a thank you for their patience, Sunday ticket holders will receive a free ticket to the Thursday Preview Party and anyone wishing to attend the Thursday festivities can by a charity ticket with proceeds benefiting the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless and other local organizations.
