Huntsville’s newest live entertainment destination, The Orion Amphitheater, is set to celebrate its opening weekend with an all-star lineup of performers. The event – dubbed The First Waltz – will take place on May 13-15, 2022 with Brittany Howard, Drive-By Truckers and Emmylou Harris topping the bill.
Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, John Paul White, Mavis Staples, St. Paul & The Broken Bones and Waxahatchee are also performing and even more guests are to be announced. Local artists The Aeolians of Oakwood University, Kelvin Wooten & Deqn Sue, Translee and the Huntsville Community Drumline will wrap things up on Sunday.
Tickets go on sale on Friday, Nov. 19 at 10 a.m. CT.
“The Orion Amphitheater will be an impressive quality-of-life addition to complement our thriving arts and entertainment community,” Tommy Battle, Huntsville Mayor said. “We anticipate this amazing venue will help attract and recruit new people and ideas to our community from across the Southeast.”
