With headliners like The Smile, Big Thief and Bon Iver, Pitchfork Music Festival 2023 – taking place in Chicago’s Union Park July 21-23 – promises to be an unforgettable event. From the start of the day to the final performances, the lineup boasts a slew of must-see artists for fans of rock, hip-hop, R&B and more.
Here’s a look at some of the best acts playing Pitchfork 2023.
Kelela
Following a sold-out show at Thalia Hall earlier this year, Kelela is set to make her triumphant return to Chicago on the third and final day of Pitchfork. Expect a dance party to erupt – fueled by songs from her spectacular 2023 album Raven – across Union Park when Kelela performs on the Red Stage at 7:25 p.m. on Sunday night.
Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul
Fans of electro pop will want to post up at the Blue Stage on Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. as Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul are set to bring their one of a kind live show to Pitchfork. Their debut album, Topical Dancer, which was released in 2022, fuses infectious rhythms and powerful ideas that feed the body, mind and spirit.
Alvvays
The Canadian outfit Alvvays returned with new music in 2022 in the form of their third studio album Blue Rev. Fans can expect Molly Rankin and company to share music from their entire career when they play the Red Stage at 7:25 p.m. on Friday Night.
JPEGMAFIA
Pitchfork Music Festival veteran JPEGMAFIA is returning to Union Park on Sunday afternoon to perform on the Green Stage. Having released a 2023 collaborative album, Scaring the Hoes, with another previous Pitchfork artist Danny Brown to critical acclaim, fans will be ready to celebrate his genre-bending music with a sure-to-be energetic show.
Vagabon
Vagabon is also no stranger to the Pitchfork Music Festival. Her 2017 appearance was a breathtaking display of the singer-songwriter’s unmistakable talent. Fans who enjoy a more mellow, delicate live show won’t want to miss Vagabon’s 4 p.m. Blue Stage set on Saturday.
